$650,000 has now been raised from sales of this badge!

Orders for badges can be placed anytime.

We have had an overwhelming response to our Bushfire Recovery badge, and as of Wednesday 25 March, we have sold all 165,000 badges. 

An overwhelming 80% of these sales have come from our incredibly generous international Scouting friends, including 50,000 from Scouts across USA, 20,000 from Japan, 20,000 from UK, and many thousands from countries all over the world. We have been truly humbled by this incredible support.

The first 30,000 badges sold were donated and 100% of sales went to the fundraising effort. After this, the badges had to be funded and the profits (approx. $4 per badge) have been donated to the fundraiser.

This is a national effort.  Scouts Australia also sincerely thanks the thousands of our international Scouting friends who are standing with us and supporting our campaign.

To ensure as much as can go to the appeal, postage and handling of $5 will be added to any order placed in Australia, whether you order 1 badge or 100 badges, a $5 postage and handling charge will be added to your order to contribute to distribution costs.

Where a purchase is made in Australia, the funds raised will be allocated to the Branch according to the purchaser’s postcode, and the Branch will forward the proceeds where they feel it will do the most good.  

In NSW Scouting Groups and families impacted by the bushfire will receive funds raised from badge sales through the NSW Family Support Fund. Money raised through badge sales in Victoria will be donated to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal. Other Branches will announce their decision on the distribution of the funds raised by their members as the situation evolves.

The Chief Commissioners of all Australian States & Territories have approved this badge to be worn on the right chest of the uniform as a special event badge.

Sales outside of Australia

Net profits on sales made to our international Scouting friends will be directed to Australian Scouts who have suffered loss in the bushfires.  Unfortunately for some, their entire home was destroyed.   We aim to ensure they will be able to remain connected to Scouting as they work through this traumatic period. Funds raised have exceeded our expectations and we are now working on other programs to support reforestation programs and other bushfire recovery programs Scouts can directly engage in over coming months and years.

International Shipping

We have had incredible international support. Shipping has been enabled for most countries across Asia, Europe, UK, Canada, USA, NZ. We are sending all international parcels via DHL courier. Please enter your detailed address including postcode. International Shipping will be a flat fee of AU$35 - $45 depending on where you are.  We apologise for the high international shipping costs and we encourage you to consolidate orders from several supporters to reduce the shipping cost burden. Up until the 20th of January we were able to return 100% of the profit to the bushfire recovery.  This is thanks to the generous sponsorships by Snowgum & the Victorian Scout Foundation.  From Tuesday 21st of January all net profits will be directed to the appeal.
